STOP MESSING ABOUT: THE TORTURED LIFE OF KENNETH WILLIAMS

Kenneth Williams made ‘camp’ comedy not only his own trademark but also made it acceptable to the British Public.  His outward persona was one of frenetic happiness.  Yet, despite his association with some of the greatest comic creations of his generation (Hancock’s Half Hour, The Carry Ons, Round The Horne etc.), his personal life was a sad and lonely one.  Through video clips, radio excerpts and Williams’ own diary which he kept for 40 years,  STEVE DIMMER examines the life of a man who made millions laugh but found it hard to smile himself.
