A VICTORIAN PARLOUR MAGIC INDULGENCE

STEVE DIMMER dons his evening dress to become an elegant Victorian Conjuror to presents this special evening. At large Victorian dinner parties, the guests would adjourn after the meal to be entertained by the illusions of a professional magician and this evening recreates that experience.  With authentic routines from the late 1800s, as well as period music, setting and atmosphere, the evening transports its audience back to those bygone days.  The show plays on a raised dais.

Parlour magic is so called because of its popularity in the parlours of Victorian high society: this form of presentation bridges the gap between Close-up and Cabaret magic.  Effectively it is cabaret for a small number of guests, usually between 20 & 100. The performance is still intimate enough to allow spectators to feel involved and is more relaxed in style than a full blown cabaret. The presentation lasts approx. 45 minutes.

A sophisticated range of entertaining effects in an intimate setting allows you to feel you’ve been transported back to a Victorian parlour. The show has not been devised with children in mind but families are welcome.
