THE GREAT EXHIBITION OF 1851

The first Great Exhibition of the Victorian age was in 1851. The brainchild of Prince Albert, it attracted as many critics as it had enthusiasts. Ultimately it was an amazing success, its profits financing many other projects that are still with us. This talk examines the exhibitions origins, its content and its legacy.
